AppleからiPadのリリースのニュース。プロモーションムービーは相変わらず出来が良く、iPhoneと同様に思わず欲しくなったが、でもやっぱり僕は買わ（買え）ないんだろうな。以下雑感。
・一番安いモデルで499ドル設定なのは、ターゲットとするアーリアダプターにとってリーズナブルと感じる設定をしているだけであり、実際にはもっと安くできるが、Appleはそんなことはせず、自らのプレミアムブランド価値を活用している。
・そうすることで、大きな利益を得られるわけだけれども、これはむしろ中国生産の恩恵を受けている製造業全体に言える話であり、Appleだけが責められる筋合いのものではない。
・ニュースでは電子ブック市場がこれで広がる、と言っているが、IPS方式とはいえ、液晶ディスプレイが電子ブック市場を形成することはあり得ないのではないだろうか。いや、液晶方式で400dpiが実現できるようになるのであれば別だが、iPadはXGAの解像度であり、アンチエイリアスでごまかすにしても限界だろう。
・一方で、映像コンテンツ、マルチメディアコンテンツ（Web、ゲーム、写真、TV電話）については、大きな可能性を感じる。もし、80歳代になる、僕のおじいちゃん、おばあちゃんがこれを受け入れることが可能になるとすれば、一つの革命が実現すると思う。
・マルチタスクが出来ないのは、ソフトウェアの問題ではなく、ハードウェアの制約をユーザに見せないように、そして、ユーザ操作を混乱させないようにするためにわざと作られた仕様であり、これもまたAppleが非難される筋合いのものではない。前者は、ハードウェアの性能が今後向上すれば解決するだろうし、後者についてもどうすればいいのか、実際のユーザ体験を踏まえての開発が進められることだろう。

・でも、これはパソコンを購入したまま、使わなくなってしまった家庭でも同じことが言えるから、やはり、そんなに深刻な課題とは言えないかもしれない。でも、その代わりとして、やはり、（使い道が無いということで）爆発的に売れるということも無いように思える。そのキラーアプリが、電子ブックになるのではないか？というのが多くの意見なのかもしれないが、そうはならないと思う。
・レシピ、回覧板、雑誌記事などWebでも成立するコンテンツであれば、液晶画面でも成立すると思われるが、そうだとすると、今度は少々乱暴に扱っても壊れない、水、ドリンクに濡れても拭けばokというプロダクトそのものの耐久性がもとめられそうであるが、この分野は残念ながらAppleの得意分野とは言えない。それを解決できるだろうか？
・Flashが使えないのは、ハードウェア、ソフトウェアの制約の問題などではなく、単に、AppleとAdobeの勢力争いの結果だろう。みんなそれは知っている。AppleがAdobeを買収してしまうか、あるいはMicrosoftのsilverlightのように独自のものを作れば良いだけだ。
